Huawei Edge smartphone in the making – Aluminum casing images leaked
Leaked images of what seem to be the outer casing of the soon to come Huawei Edge were posted on the internet. These casings which were made out of Aluminum seem to be the body of the Huawei Edge, the new smartphone from the company that will be released in the United States.
Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer recently confirmed that it has plans to release a new smartphone for the US this year by summer. The company did not give out the name of this new device nor give out any of the technical specifications that this smartphone would have. But according to the information provide by sources, this new smartphone will be the Huawei Edge.
The Huawei Edge is said to be a smartphone that will be thinner than the company’s current flagship device, the Huawei Ascend D2. The Aluminum casing images show that the thickness of the Huawei Edge will be about 6.3 mm, which in turn do prove the above point. The Huawei Ascend D2 has a thickness of 9.4 mm whereas the casing is 6.3 mm thick. Assuming that there will be some extra hardware in between, we expect the overall thickness of the Huawei Edge to be somewhere around 8.3 to 8.6 mm.
The Huawei Edge is also expected to have a hardware configuration similar to the Ascend D2 but might not be able to match it. The Huawei Edge is expected to have a 4.9 inch Full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The CPU and GPU on the Edge will be similar to the one on the Ascend D2.
In addition to this, the Huawei Edge will have a device will have a 13 MP primary camera and 2.2 MP secondary camera. The device will also come with internal storage options of 16 and 32 GB and a micro SD card support will allow expansion of storage space. The device is expected to have a 2600 mAh Li-Ion battery. Although it could result to be similar to the Ascend D2, we doubt if this smartphone will also be dustproof and water resistant like the Ascend D2.
